Bridging two worldviews together

My name is Syed Rizvi.

I am a PhD student in Psychology who specializes in the area of religion, faith, spirituality and well-being.

The current platform is designed to educate, provide resources and synthesize western science with metaphysical presuppositions for broader treatment and help.

Psychology emerged in the late 1800s as a western science to more concretely understand human experiences including behavior, thoughts and emotions.

Spirituality is prevalent in almost all cultures as the basis for existence beyond materialistic prosperity and success.

The two are often contrasted with one another due to psychology supporting an empirical stance on reality, whereas spirituality endorses aspects which cannot be contained within the scientific method.

Psychology meaning ‘the study of the soul’ can be broadened to integrate wider existential concerns related to human functioning… Concerns which only our spiritual disciplines can answer.

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

“And to Allah belongs the east and the west, so wherever you turn your faces there is the Face of Allah.” (Qur’an 2:115)

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.” (Bhagavad Gita)

“Each individual is at once the cause for the whole and is caused by the whole, and… existence is a vast body made up of an infinity of individuals all sustaining each other and defining each other.’ (Hua-yen Buddhism)
