Where psychology meets spirituality

I’m Syed Rizvi, a licensed psychologist with a PhD in Psychology. My work sits where clinical science meets faith, meaning and the spiritual life: in therapy, in research and in writing.

Bridging two worldviews

Psychology emerged in the late 1800s as a western science to more concretely understand human experiences including behavior, thoughts and emotions. Spirituality is prevalent in almost all cultures as the basis for existence beyond materialistic prosperity and success.

The two are often contrasted with one another due to psychology supporting an empirical stance on reality, whereas spirituality endorses aspects which cannot be contained within the scientific method.

This site exists to educate, to provide resources, and to bring western science and metaphysical presuppositions together for broader treatment and help.
